Hospitals dropped from CON requirement
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, May 10, 2005
A bill requiring ASCs and diagnostic imaging centers in Oregon to go through the Certificate of Need (CON) process will not require hospitals to go through the same process after language was dropped from the bill.
Hospitals can still expand or relocate without applying for a CON. Whether ASCs and diagnostic imaging centers will need to go through the CON process needed for new construction is expected to be determined by a Senate vote on the bill, Senate Bill 503, this week.
