House committee seeks to cut VA HIT funding

Last Thursday the House Committee on Veterans Affairs recommended withholding current funding and cutting the $311 million allocated for the Department of Veterans Affairs' HealtheVet program, after a Carnegie Mellon University study found major problems in the program, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

The study warned that the project is "not viable" and "high risk" unless the VA addresses operability concerns, reports the Times. Click here to read the Times story.
