Surescripts launches Web site to track state connectivity rules, e-prescribing progress
EHR Connection, March 29, 2005
Physicians and pharmacies can use the Surescripts Web site to determine the progress of e-prescribing in each state and to review state-by-state connectivity rules. The site lists the 39 states with favorable statutes and regulations for e-prescribing, the nine states that are working toward a favorable ruling, and the two states--Wyoming and South Carolina--that still have regulatory obstacles to overcome before e-prescribing can take place. An interactive regulatory map shows each state's regulatory environments. The review helps Surescripts stay on track with developing its e-prescribing implementation in compliance with state laws. Surescripts has been active with local partners in shaping statutes and regulations to enable e-prescribing in states that were lagging behind.
