Nebraska providers create RHIO to share mental health records

EHR Connection, March 29, 2005

Healthcare providers in southeast Nebraska formed a partnership to create a regional network to share mental health records, the Lincoln Journal Star reports.

The system would link 50 sites, including small field offices, as well as the region's only provider of inpatient mental-health care, the Journal Star reports. Right now, the partnership is determining the most effective way to exchange information.

The study is funded with a $200,000 federal grant that covers providers in 16 southeast Nebraska counties, the Journal Star reports. Half of the grant recipients will receive $1.5 million at a later time, to enact the plans, and grant recipients will be notified in September.
