CMS set to launch hospital quality Web site
Quality Improvement Monitor, March 17, 2005
CMS will launch its Hospital Compare Web site April 1 during a meeting of the Association of Health Care Journalists in Chapel Hill, NC.
The Web site, which will allow consumers to compare hospitals based on publicly reported data, will be launched during a ceremony at the conference and will include a visit from CMS Administrator Mark McClellan, CMS official Lisa Lang said at a recent quality open-door forum.
State quality improvement organizations will also have activities to generate awareness about the site, and the site will guide consumers on how to use it and how to interpret the data, Lang said.
