Health system to invest $100 million in HIT improvements
EHR Connection, March 7, 2005
In the CareQuest project, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System is investing $100 million in HIT improvements to establish evidence-based care and update administrative duties in the four states that house the system's eight hospitals, the Kansas City Business Journal reports.
The project will launch EHRs and streamline registration and billing practices at all system hospitals. The health system sent 30 staff members to its headquarters to form a "transformation team" to make this project happen.
The transformation team has three years to determine the technology needed to provide the best patient care and the most efficient operation, the Business Journal reports.
