NQF seeks comment on patient-satisfaction survey
Quality Improvement Monitor, February 24, 2005
The National Quality Forum (NQF) seeks comment on the 27-question HCAHPS hospital patient satisfaction survey.
The organization will accept comments from the public through March 18 and from NQF members through March 23. A review committee will make final recommendations on the survey by early April.
NQF membership and the board of directors will then vote on the recommendations in early spring, the forum said.
CMS plans to begin training hospitals on the survey in the spring. The goal of the survey is to provide "apples-to-apples comparisons" of hospitals, former Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson said late last year before leaving office.
