Survey: Medical group EHR use will double in two years
EHR Connection, February 18, 2005
Although more than twice as many medical groups are using EHRs than two years ago, only 30% have any form of EHR system, according to a survey from the Medical Group Management Association. Even fewer-20%-have systems that store patient information in computer-accessible electronic databases. However, 40% of survey respondents said they plan to adopt EHR within the next two years.
According to a new study from the American Journal of Managed Care, physician groups that use EHR and clinical support systems had 19% fewer hospitalizations than the groups that did not.
