Wisconsin Gov. requests $10 million for EHR project
EHR Connection, February 17, 2005
To help providers implement EHRs, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D) will include $10 million in grants and loans in his budget plans for the next two years. The project would inform physicians about research advancement and enable physicians to fax pharmacies.
The program would also create a state quality and safety board to automate all healthcare information systems in Wisconsin by 2010, reports the Madison Capital Times. The board would award grants and loans to clinics, HMOs, hospitals, and physicians.
