Siemens connectivity tool allows access 24/7 for docs, patients

Siemens Medical Solutions has a new connectivity tool, Soarian Community Access, a Web-based, 24-hour service that provides secure information access and online communication among physicians, patients, and healthcare professionals. Patients can request prescription refills, schedule appointments, seek referrals, ask billing questions, communicate directly with their physicians, and maintain a personal electronic health record.
Physicians can use the tool to respond to patient needs, ensure privacy, address liability issues, and get reimbursed for their time and expertise. In addition, intuitive reminder functions aid monitoring of patient tests and procedures. Siemens' presentation of the product also offers information about securing grant opportunities and funding technology initiatives for hospitals, medical practices, and the community.
