AHRQ awards Lousiana Rural HIT Partnership $1.1 million

The Louisiana Rural Health Information Technology Partnership received a $1.1 million grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to boost technology for critical-access hospitals and providers, the AP reports.
EHR systems will be installed in the emergency departments of 10 critical-access hospitals in an effort to improve quality of care.
The grant will enable the sharing of electronic information with other community healthcare providers, reports the AP.
The hospitals in the partnership are:
- Assumption Community Hospital
- CHRISTUS Coushatta Hospital
- DeQuincy Memorial Hospital
- Jackson Parish Hospital
- Madison Parish Hospital
- Pointe Coupee General Hospital
- Saint Helena Parish Hospital
- Saint James Parish Hospital
- Union General Hospital
- West Feliciana Parish Hospital
