Wisconsin healthcare systems are upgrading IT

EHR Connection, January 6, 2005

In efforts to improve quality and control costs, Wisconsin healthcare systems are upgrading IT.

Franciscan Skemp Healthcare plans to implement EHRs and Gundersen Lutheran will expand information systems to maximize staff access to progress notes and laboratory reports, reports the Lacrosse Tribune.

Both organizations are members of the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, which issues progress reports on healthcare quality measures.

ThedaCare, a community-owned health organization, is installing computers in all hospital rooms at its hospitals. Nurses will enjoy easier access to patients' records and can input information at the bedside.
