Cerner considers creating regional network in Missouri

Health IT vendor Cerner Corp. is considering creating a regional health information network to connect four cities in Missouri, the Business Journal of Kansas City reports. The four cities have hospitals currently using Cerner products.
Initially, providers and payers will be able share a limited amount of information about prescriptions, diagnoses, and lab results for area patients. The infrastructure could later include outcomes information and treatment plans.
