Vendor charges government with EHR responsibilities
EHR Connection, January 6, 2005
The federal government has the responsibility to propel the movement toward an electronic health record system in the United States, according to speakers at vendor Oracle's OpenWorld conference.
The EHR initiative in the United States is "a work in progress," Tom Jones, Oracle vice president and chief medical officer, said, and the government should examine the infrastructure, according to Health IT World News. "Hospitals are responsible for patients, but only the government is responsible for citizens."
