ME to create statewide EHR system
EHR Connection, January 6, 2005
To lower costs while improving quality and access to care in Maine's 39 hospitals, the Commission to Study Maine Hospitals recommended the state create a statewide EHR system that would allow for electronic access to patients' complete records, the Bangor Daily News reports.
Larger Maine health systems are currently working to implement EHRs but smaller hospitals are still using traditional paper files.
Public hearings on the recommendations are scheduled for Jan. 6 and 7 in Bangor, Augusta, and Portland.
