Networking goes a long way

If you're stuck trying to gain departmental support in your hospital, then begin networking with fellow hospital staff members, as well as other security directors. "If you don't build networks, you end up in trouble," says Jim Balija, IAHSS executive director. Talk to department directors and ask how you can help them do their jobs better. At the very least, talk to the managers in the public relations department, who likely don't know what happens in security, Balija says.
