Attorney General proposes tougher penalties for abuse

LTC Liability Monitor, December 15, 2004

Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly is proposing legislation that would raise penalties for elder abuse, reported the Boston Globe. The law would hold nursing home administrators and supervisors responsible for recurring abuse in their facilities.

Reilly is currently pursuing an indictment against a nursing assistant who allegedly physically and emotionally abused four patients at a Franklin, MA nursing home last year, according to the Globe.
