AHIMA calls for PHR work group volunteers

The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) is organizing a work group of 20 volunteers to research and define the personal health record (PHR) from January through March of 2005, according to the association.
The work group will develop:
- a marketplace survey of existing PHRs
- suggested common data elements of the PHR
- HIM roles in the promotion and development of the PHR
- models of consumer education of the PHR
- defining the linkage between the EHR and the PHR
- tools to promote the use of the PHR
