Former employees sue over home closure

LTC Liability Monitor, December 8, 2004

Six former employees sued an Illinois nursing home management company over an alleged violation of the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, according to the Belleville [IL] News-Democrat. The act requires employers to notify employees of a closing or mass layoff a minimum of 60 days in advance. The employees were given five days notice before the nursing home they worked at was closed. They are suing for 60 days of pay and benefits, reported the News-Democrat.
