Think twice about where you put security cameras
Healthcare Security Weekly, November 30, 2004
Before you put cameras in the hospital, ask the following:
* Why are you putting a camera in a certain place?
* Are there privacy issues regarding the location of the camera?
* Do you need to place signs in the area?
It's important that cameras don't violate any laws, warns Linda Glasson, security consultant from Suffolk, VA. "Sometimes people in staff lounges change clothing," she says. "But even though there's no expectation of privacy, I'd probably still put up a sign."
