IPA offers patients electronic access
EHR Connection, November 30, 2004
Brown & Toland Medical Group-an independent practice association (IPA) based in San Francisco serving more than 1,500 physicians-started rolling out electronic medical records software from Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, according to Health Data Management.
The IPA plans to launch the clinical laboratory results module first and in 2005 will roll out e-prescribing, note taking, and charge capturing.
The modules will integrate with the Flowcast administrative information system the company offered to its physicians earlier this year. Implementation of both technologies is part of a multi-year, $12 million information technology initiative at Brown & Toland, reports Health Data Management.
