AAAHC names new board members
Ambulatory Surgery Reimbursement Update, November 23, 2004
On November 16, the American Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) issued a press release publicly introducing three new members to their board of directors: Susan Hughes, MD, PC, FACS; Greg M. Menaker, MD; and Karen McKellar, all of whom assumed their new roles at the AAAHC Board of Director's November 6-7 meeting. The new appointees are replacing outgoing board members Sam Romeo, MD; William Hanks, MD; and Kimberly Butterwick, MD.
Hughes is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), and works and teaches in the oculoplastic department at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. She is board-certified in facial cosmetic surgery, and has applied those skills charitably around the world as a member of Project Orbis, as an operating surgeon and lecturer.
Menaker, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, is the deputy chief of the division of dermatology at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in Illinois. Menaker received a undergraduate degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts, attended medical school at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and completed his dermatology internship at Northwestern University.
McKellar is a surveyor for the AAAHC, and a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). She has previously served as the associate director of the Hall Health Primary Care Center at the University of Washington, and as manager of the Family Medical Center and residency program at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle.
