Judge dismisses First Amendment lawsuit

A Wisconsin judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a former nursing home social worker who alleged she was improperly fired, reported The Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune. The former employee claimed her First Amendment rights were violated when she was fired from the Wood County, WI, nursing home after speaking out against the director's financial policies.
The judge determined that the director did not know who had filed the anonymous complaint and that the employee had been fired for scoring poorly on two consecutive reviews.
