Labor Department settles mismanagement suit
LTC Liability Monitor, November 16, 2004
The U.S. Labor Department has settled a lawsuit with a family owned Massachusetts nursing home over mismanagement of employee retirement savings accounts, reported the Quincy (MA) Patriot Ledger. Logan Healthcare Management Group agreed to repay $36,000 to workers at its five southeastern MA facilities.
The Labor Department alleged that the company had used funds from employees' 401(k) retirement accounts for improper purposes, including covering nursing home expenses, according to the Patriot Ledger.
