EHR, HIT credentials available in January
EHR Connection, November 8, 2004
Health IT Certification announced two new categories of certification for healthcare professionals, the Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR) credential and the Certified Professional in Health Information Technology (CPHIT) credential.
The CPEHR indicates:
- a high level of expertise in planning, implementation, and operation of EHR systems
- mastery of the common body of knowledge for an EHR professional
The CPHIT indicates :
- mastery of the common body of knowledge for an EHR professional
- expertise in a variety of HIT applications, including computerized provider order entry and e-prescribing
Individuals may attend training in a seminar setting, or via the Internet. CPEHR and CPHIT training and testing will be available online January 1, 2005.
