Judge clears administrator sued by medical director
LTC Liability Monitor, November 3, 2004
A New Hampshire judge ruled in favor of a nursing home administrator who was sued by his facility's former medical director and physician's assistant, reported the Manchester, NH, Union Leader.
The two men accused the administrator of "intentional and malicious interference with the rights of the petitioners to practice their profession"-stemming from the administrator's refusal to renew the director's contract. They claimed the contract was not renewed because they had been vocal in advocating for better patient care and complained about excessive Medicaid billing.
In addition to clearing the administrator of wrongdoing, the judge also ruled the medical director could continue to treat patients at the nursing home as their personal physician.
