Don't ignore the hospital's mission in your requests

Security shouldn't operate as a mini-police department in the hospital. Its focus should always be about what's best for patients, staff, and the organization. Keep an open mind and listen to the needs of the organization. Remember that requests aren't about what's best for you, says Russ Colling, CHPA, CPP, a consultant for Colling and Kramer Consultants in Salida, CO.
