Escaped mental patient steals 18-wheeler
Healthcare Security Weekly, September 1, 2004
A man undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Lebanon hospital in Tennessee allegedly escaped from security and stole an 18-wheeler last week, the channel News 2 reported.
Anthony Didonato, Jr., 34, led police on a slow chase until he crashed the truck into several utility poles and later pulled over. He faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, and evading arrest.
Didonato was at the University Medical Center awaiting a transfer to another facility when he escaped, police said.
