Former SNF employee files wrongful termination suit
LTC Liability Monitor, August 4, 2004
A former skilled nursing facility (SNF) social worker claims she was fired last year after reporting the administrator's improper conduct to the board of trustees, the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune reported.
The former employee of Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, WI, alleged the administrator was discriminating against potential residents, screening them based on their ability to pay for services and falsely making them believe they were responsible for care.
The county-owned SNF is prohibited from these practices. The suit is seeking compensation for emotional, psychological, and economic damages and legal fees.
