Patient steals ambulance
Healthcare Security Weekly, May 24, 2004
A Chicago woman stole an ambulance parked outside Norwegian-American Hospital last week, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Nicole White, 22, was taken to the hospital by ambulance early Monday, May 17, for alcohol poisoning, said Chicago police spokeswoman JoAnn Taylor.
Just after 5 a.m., White got into another idling ambulance and drove off, Taylor said.
Police stopped and arrested her about 40 minutes later. After her arrest, White kicked out the window of a squad car, Taylor said.
She faces charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and damaging the squad car.
