How to justify your hospital's security model
Healthcare Security Weekly, May 19, 2004
If an adverse event takes place at you hospital and spawns litigation, Fredrick Roll, CHPA-F, CPP, president of Roll Enterprises, Inc., in Morrison, CO, says one of the first questions asked will be whether the security program in place is reasonable and appropriate.
"The answer of 'we've always had this model,' won't count," Roll says. "Can you validate and justify the security model you have at your facility?"
Begin by evaluating the quality of staff and their ability to perform core competency functions.
