NH creates database of Alzheimer’s sufferers
LTC Liability Monitor, April 8, 2004
A new initiative is underway in New Hampshire to quickly locate Alzheimer's or dementia sufferers who have gone missing, reported The [Manchester, NH] Union Leader.
The police department in Manchester, NH, in collaboration with the New Hampshire chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, will be storing pictures of Alzheimer's or dementia sufferers who have a tendency to wander or become disoriented.
The photos, along with emergency contact information, will be stored in police cruiser laptop computers to speed up the process of finding missing residents and cut down on their exposure to the elements, reported The Union Leader.
