Senate confirms McClellan as CMS administrator

The US Senate confirmed the appointment of Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Mark McClellan as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS), on Friday, according to The
McClellan's appointment stalled on the Senate floor because of the drug reimportation issue. But National Journal's CongressDaily reports that Sen. Byron Dorgan removed his hold on the appointment after Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist assured Dorgan that Congress would take up the issue at a later date.
