Hospital argument turns deadly in Detroit
Healthcare Security Weekly, March 14, 2004
An argument at a Detroit hospital left one person dead last week after two suspects got into a fight with a security officer, opened fire on police, fled, and crashed into a tree. The accident killed one suspect and injured the other, WXYZ reports.
Police officers were at Sinai Grace Hospital for another incident when they heard of an argument between a hospital security officer and the two men. The security officer said the two men threatened him in the argument.
The men opened fire on police, fled the hospital in a car, and crashed into a tree. One of the suspects died instantly and the other is in the hospital, WXYZ reports.
There were several police officers in the area when the men apparently panicked and started speeding, under the impression the police were chasing them. Police have denied there was a chase, WXYZ reports.
