Bombs found in Salt Lake City hospital

Healthcare Security Weekly, March 1, 2004

Security officers at Salt Lake City's VA hospital discovered a suspicious red duffel bag containing two bombs last week.
Someone left the bag inside a building that provides housing for veterans released from the hospital.
After the bomb's discovery, the police arrived and about 100 veterans evacuated from the hospital, KSL news reports.
The Salt Lake bomb squad deactivated the bombs inside the hospital and later took them to a safer area for detonation, KSL reports.
The VA hospital is a federal facility. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is involved in the investigation and by Friday already had a suspect in the case. However, no charges have been filed yet.
