Visitor stabbed at Wichita hospital

A man visiting a patient at a Wichita hospital on December 27 was stabbed in the arm by another visitor, the Associated Press reports.

The stabbing occurred at around 11:30 a.m. at the St. Francis campus of Via Christi Regional Medical Center as two men, who knew one another, were visiting the same patient. The men, whose names werent released, began arguing and one pulled out a filleting knife and stabbed the second man in the left arm, police said.

The 37-year-old victim was treated in the emergency room and released. Hospital security detained the 50-year-old suspect, who police later charged with suspicion of aggravated battery and a weapons violation. Police didnt release any details about the argument that prompted the stabbing.
