Men who steal medical equipment receive jail time

Two men involved in stealing thousands of dollars in medical equipment from hospitals throughout Florida will now do their time.
Last week, Rene Lopez received a 10-year sentence in a state prison for the thefts. The other man, Leovigildo Gonzalez, received a one-year sentence in Palm County Jail followed by 10 years of probation.
The men stole over $240,000 worth of medical equipment, including defibrillators, heart monitors, and ultrasound machines from hospitals in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties in Florida.
