MDS 3.0 Boot Camp now available online

Press Releases, September 10, 2010

HCPro Inc., a leader in healthcare education and training, announces its popular four-day boot camp for MDS team members, DONs, and administrators is now available as a four-week online course.

MDS 3.0 Boot Camp Online™ is an intensive training program that focuses on accurate completion of the new MDS 3.0 assessment, effective October 1, 2010. This program also identifies process changes under the 3.0 that will result in improved outcomes, operations, and revenue integrity.

Using a combination of online lecture, interactive exercises, and instructor conference calls, this intensive four-week course gives participants the same content, tools, and skills that the live MDS 3.0 Boot Camp provides.

"The urgency to understand and implement MDS 3.0 is growing, and will still be a concern to long-term care facilities even after October 1," says regulatory specialist Diane Brown, BA, lead instructor of the boot camp. "By making MDS 3.0 Boot Camp available online, HCPro has provided a budget-friendly alternative to MDS 3.0 training."

Topics covered in the boot camp include section-by-section guidance on MDS 3.0 completion; a system-wide approach to improving accuracy and the bottom line; advice on how to use internal data, time management techniques, and internal review processes to reduce error rates; and a method to benchmark the MDS process based on outcomes.

Participants work at their own pace over the four-week period, eliminating the need to take a week away from work to complete the traditional classroom boot camp.

In addition to the MDS 3.0 online and classroom versions, HCPro offers 14 different boot camps including long-term care programs that cover Medicare rules and regulations and how to improve quality ratings under the CMS Five Star system. Many of the programs can be custom designed for onsite training.
