HealthLeaders Media announces Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare award winners

Press Releases, July 7, 2010

HealthLeaders Media, the leading provider of healthcare business information to the c-suite, has announced the Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare award winners for 2010.

The Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare award program, sponsored by GE Healthcare, is now in its seventh year. The program is designed to celebrate the outstanding teamwork that occurs in healthcare organizations each day, to share what makes top leadership teams successful, and to encourage other healthcare leaders to learn more from the best practices of top leadership teams.

The 2010 winners include Novant Health, Winston-Salem, NC, for Large Hospitals and Health Systems; Columbus (IN) Regional for Community and Mid-Sized Hospitals; Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, NY, for Small Hospitals; Crystal Run Healthcare, Middletown, NY, for Medical Group Practices; and Network Health, Medford, MA, for Health Plans.

"One of the common traits that is obvious with all of the winners in 2010 is their sense of urgency to improve," says Jim Molpus, strategic relationships director for HealthLeaders Media and chair of the Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare program. "We attribute much of the rush to greatness to the rapidly collapsing and evolving business models in healthcare delivery. The winners in 2010 can truly serve as models for others in healthcare to know that change can come quickly, because it will have to in the future."

Recipients of the award will be honored on October 21 in Dallas.

Winners are judged on the team’s overall leadership culture, its ability to overcome challenges, and its ability to demonstrate successes that result from outstanding leadership teamwork. Only one winner per category receives this national honor each year. Categories include:

  • Large Hospitals and Health Systems (500 or more licensed beds)
  • Community and Mid-Sized Hospitals (100–499 licensed beds)
  • Small Hospitals (fewer than 100 licensed beds)
  • Health Plans (state, regional, and national health plans)
  • Medical Group Practices (physician-owned, single- or multi-specialty groups employing 25 or more physicians)
