NQF endorses consumer-focused public reporting guidelines
Quality Improvement Monitor, October 31, 2008
The National Quality Forum (NQF) this week endorsed guidelines for consumer-focused, Web-based public reporting. The guidelines will help report sponsors present hospital quality information in an evidence-based and consumer-friendly format, according to an NQF release.
The seven endorsed guidelines are intended for use by organizations that sponsor and publish reports such as federal and state governments, consumer organizations, hospital accreditors, business coalitions, and hospital associations. They are to be used for reporting hospital quality performance, but can also be adapted for reporting care in other settings.
