Report addresses work force needs pertaining to EHRs

The American Health Information Management Association and the American Medical Informatics Association have released a report that addresses issues related to work force needs in the era of EHRs, according to an October 20 press release from the two organizations.
The report, Proposed Health Information Management and Informatics Core Competencies for Individuals Working with Electronic Health Records, provides a useful resource for training healthcare workers who use EHRs, according to the press release. It includes information and materials designed for a diverse array of academic healthcare facilities, employers, and professional societies.
