EHR Connection, October 27, 2008
The Health Resources and Services Administration is distributing nearly $19 million in grants to facilitate implementation of EHRs and other aspects of health information technology (IT) at community health centers, Government Health IT reported October 14.
A group of 12 health networks, clinics, a regional health information network in Portland, OR, and the local health department Billings, MT, will receive $14.3 million specifically for EHR implementation, according to the article.
Another group of 10 grant recipients will receive a total of $3.8 million for other projects, such as e-prescribing, data warehouses, health information exchanges, and links to state immunization registries, the newsletter reported. Six grants totaling more than $700,000 will support health IT project planning.
