Carolinas HealthCare System joins Premier alliance

Carolinas HealthCare System (CHS) of Charlotte, NC, this week announced it has become a member of the Premier healthcare alliance, according to an October 22 Premier release.
As a member of Premier, CHS will improve patient care while reducing the cost of care, the release said. CHS and Premier already have an arrangement through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services/ Premier Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration pay-for-performance project. Approximately 250 hospitals in 36 states are participating in the demonstration.
