With recent changes in reimbursement and this cost-effective way to provide services, UMS believes its new prostate brachytherapy service can benefit both urologists and ASCs. In addition, prostate brachytherapy at the ASC should be attractive to patients, the news release states, thanks to the many benefits ASCs can offer, including a comfortable, convenient facility, easy registration, onsite pre-admission testing, and a less stressful environment.
Jorgen Madsen, president and CEO of UMS says, "this…service will compliment our existing urology-based mobile services while it provides a very natural environment for a non-invasive procedure such as brachytherapy."
