Seattle posts hospital quality data online

Seattle consumers can now go online to find about the about the quality of care hospitals provide, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

A new online tool now lets Seattle-area consumers look up information about how well healthcare is practiced in the region.

The Community Checkup report includes performance results for 26 hospitals in the Seattle area, using data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

"The online Community Checkup report is the one place where everyone can go to easily learn about important aspects of local healthcare," Mary McWilliams, executive director of the Health Alliance, told the newspaper.
