Illegible prescriptions no longer a problem at Kentucky medical center
EHR Connection, September 15, 2008
Jokes about physicians’ illegible penmanship are a thing of the past at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, The Cincinnati Inquirer reported August 21.
Physicians at the Northern Kentucky medical center now send prescriptions electronically via a system from HealthBridge, a provider of health information networks that connects physicians, hospitals, and laboratories throughout Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati, according to the article.
HealthBridge has provided systems for electronic medical record delivery in the region for more than 30 years, the newspaper reported. The cost of delivery is 75 cents for the average paper record and 12 cents for an electronic record, according to the company.
