HHS Town Hall to focus on medical identity theft

HHS’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology will sponsor a Town Hall on medical identity theft from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., October 15, at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, DC.
The Town Hall will focus on addressing medical identity theft in a health information technology (IT) environment, according to an HHS announcement. Participating healthcare stakeholders from the public and private sectors will share their knowledge and expertise and seek insight into trends and future developments.
Public discussion will focus on recommendations for the detection, prevention, and remediation of medical identity theft, according to the announcement.
