Eyewash design can make the difference

Lab Safety Advisor, August 27, 2008

There are new types of eyewash station design that meet medical irrigation protocols. They have an inverted stream design which sweeps chemical and particulate contaminants away from the eye’s drain, called the lacrimal punctum. This inverted stream design mitigates the possibility of introducing the chemicals into the nasal cavity where they could be swallowed or inhaled.
