TRICARE expects to expand DM programs in 2009

TRICARE, the federal managed care program that covers active military, retirees, and dependents, is seeing good preliminary results from its two-year-old disease management (DM) demonstration program and anticipates continuing DM and expanding it to several new conditions in the next round of managed care contracts, the TRICARE director of population health and medical management said last week.
