Workplace weight-loss programs work short-term

Workplace weight-loss programs can result in modest weight loss, but it’s unclear whether patients maintain their weight-loss success or whether those successes translate into improved productivity or reduced health costs, new research shows.
The research, which surveyed studies on worksite-based weight-loss programs from 1995 to 2006, found that more-intense programs were more successful, says Michael Benedict, MD, an internist at the University of Cincinnati and lead author of the study.
